Heart Replant

Before the fall of man
The Garden of Eden was his home
Happiness abound and thoughts were pure
Plus he walked and talked with God!
So, that is no longer news!
Then came woman for God said
It was not right for man to be alone
So far so good, here comes the tough part
Had not Satan come along with his lies and deception
Man would still be walking in the Garden of Eden!
Again, that is not news!
Forgetting the fall of man
Brought about by that
Rootless troublemaker and deceiver
Let’s plant in our hearts a new Garden of Eden
But first uproot those spiteful weeds
Those weeping willows and bitter herbs
Those poison ivy plants that make you itch like mad
Those awful stinging-nettles and strangling old man’s beard
Root out the bulbs of the annoying onion grass!
When all the nasty pesty plants
have been pulled up by the root
And cast into a fiery pit
Spread a blanket of the Word of God
Plant flowers of patience, love, and joy
Intersperse kindness, gentleness, and goodness
Add a few decorative stones of peace, goodness,
and self-control
And surround them all with a retaining wall
That is the armor of God
Completely trusting in the God of love and grace
Yes, let’s replant that Garden of Eden
Right there in your heart!
Thank you, Jesus!
